We continue with week three of our fifty greatest games countdown and who knows, your favourite title might just make it onto the list! This week, we take a look at numbers 30 to 21.
If you missed out the previous lists you can check out the first one here and the second one here!
30) Starcraft (PC, Mac, N64)

What other game can lay claim to killing people, by exhaustion no less? This genre-defining, sci-fi, real-time strategy has been hailed as the greatest game of all time by legions of fans.
In Korea it's a national pastime, with dedicated TV channels and top players becoming celebrities. Players are so hardcore that reports of deaths at internet cafes are not uncommon.
Stand-out moment: Getting a group of friends together, and after hours of setting up, starting your first LAN game. Cue plenty of clicks.
29) Far Cry (PC)

2004 was supposed to belong to Half Life 2 and Doom 3 ? yet Far Cry stormed in and proved itself to be one of the most impressive titles in memory. Light on plot and heavy on action, players were thrown into the beautiful tropical setting of Micronesia.
The CRYengine more than proved itself, with vast, seamless environments, smart enemy AI and water so realistic, you could almost drink it. Almost.
Stand-out moment: Wading and crawling through a series of ruined buildings during the intro, before finding an exit and seeing the wide expanse and beautiful coastline ahead. Of course, to get to the beach, you'd have to deal with some enemies...
28) Goldeneye 007 (N64)

One of many reasons to own a Nintendo 64, Goldeneye stood tall as proof that a first-person shooter can be done on a console. From all-out, machine-gun toting action, to stealthy sniping, Goldeneye did it all.
But multiplayer was the hook, with up to four players able to battle it out in stages derived from the single-player campaign. Get four controllers and three friends now.
Stand-out moment: Taking a tank down a runway and blowing crap up never got old ? thank you death animations!
27) Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PS3)

Nathan Drake's adventure continued in a grand way, with nigh-on unparalleled visuals, brilliant animations, breathtaking set-pieces and an awesome multiplayer component ? solidifying Naughty Dog's position as one of the top developers in the world.
Stand-out moment: Leaping from rooftop to rooftop and then deciding to look out at the city. Who cares if the PS3 was tough to develop for when the view is this fantastic!
