A research firm has reported that Apple may be accelerating production of its upcoming iPhone 8, pointing to the tech giant’s biggest launch yet.
Barron’s reports that BluFin Research Partners has seen indications that Apple is speeding up production, although this does not necessarily mean that there will be any change to the release date.
“Builds have been pulled in a few months while aggregate next generation forecasts have increased 10% from last month to 122-million,” say BluFin experts John Donovan and Steve Mullane.
“Additionally, AAPL has adjusted iPhone 7, 7 Plus, and SE production downward in preparation for the next generation launch.”
The duo’s research suggests that there will be a whopping 300% increase in iPhone 8 builds in the June quarter. Usually, they say, this trend would appear in the September quarter.
Barron’s reports that Apple shares are 0,6% to $129,88.
