A stylish new Samsung TV has hit the market, turning your 4K display into a literal work of art – framed and all.
“The Frame” TV has been released in sizes of 55” and 65”, with the former priced at $1 999 (R25 000) and its big brother at $2 799 (R35 000).
It’s not cheap, but it’s a revolutionary concept that incorporates one’s TV into the décor of your home, with several bezel options available. They’re not standard metal or plastic bezels - in fact, The Frame can be wrapped in several shades of real wood. Classy, no?
Imagined with the help of legendary Swiss designer Yves Behar, the TV “transforms into a beautiful piece of art when the 4K UHD TV is not being viewed”.
It comes pre-installed with one hundred “curated” artworks, ensuring that your living room is always tastefully decorated.
It hangs on the wall, just like a regular frame, and also features Samsung’s “Invisible Connection” technology that replaces the usual mess of wires with one transparent optical cable.
The display can be ordered directly from Samsung, but local retailers should pick up on it soon enough.
