What does the near future hold for laptop technology? Well, according to Lenovo, your next notebook will be foldable.
Bear with me, now. That doesn’t sound particularly revolutionary, until you realise that it’s the screen that’s folding, without a single hinge in sight.
Lenovo unveiled the concept at its Tech World Transform event in New York on Tuesday, and while it is just a vision for the future, it’s definitely a cool idea.
Disappointingly, little has been revealed about the idea, aside from the fact that the device will be made using “advanced materials”. You’ll also be able to speak to it, like you’d do with Alexa, Siri or Bixby, and it'll come with a stylus.
As for the screen, that’ll be achieved using “new screen technologies”. Wow. What a revelation.
Of course, we already know that Samsung is working on flexible displays, and reports suggest that a foldable smartphone is well on its way.
Unfortunately for Lenovo, however, this particular reveal is more of a whimper than a confidence announcement – a case of too little, too soon.
We need more to go on than vague, empty ideas. I mean, anyone can draw something cool without saying how it could actually be built.

Ah, concepts You're killing us (not so much) softly.
Hopefully, the company will give the tech public more to go on soon. Until then, we can all have a guess at what those “advanced materials” are.
