How much are you expecting to pay for the new iPhone 8 when it arrives later this year? Well, it could be a lot more than the current model.
That’s according to thr New York Times, which reports that the upcoming Apple flagship device will cost a hefty $999 in the United States – around $350 more than the current incarnation.
A very big price jump for a highly anticipated phone, yes, but will it be worthwhile? According to The Verge, the new device will have an all-new design, wireless charging, facial recognition and a nearly bezel-less display.
That all sounds fantastic, until one realises that Samsung’s flagship devices have had those features for a while now. The iPhone 8 may just prove to be a little too expensive for many people.
The Verge suggests that the price jump will not only cover the cost of a better device, but it will allow Apple to manage the massive demand for its phones a bit better.
Given Apple’s massively successful history with the iPhone, it’s hard to see sales slumping. Apple fans are hardcore.
