Niantic has given Pokémon Go a much-needed energy boost with a massive update, adding 80 new creatures to the game, among other things.
The game now has more customisation options than ever before, and has introduced new berries to use on your Pokémon.
The 80 new Pokémon are all from Generation II games – that means that your favourites from Pokemon Gold, Silver and Crystal can be caught on the Go!
Pokémon from the Johto region include Cyndaquil,
Just like in the original games, new Pokémon include evolutions of Generation I creatures. According to Kotaku, that means that Slowpoke can evolve into Slowking, Onix into Steelix, and Eveen into Espeon and Umbreon.
Interestingly, users are already reporting one majorly frustrating glitch. While Togetic is now available for capture, trainers are finding the task to be nearly impossible.
Kotaku also notes that the game has addressed several bugs, added night-themed maps and music, and new encounter mechanics.
