Uber trips can be exciting, given the right sort of driver, but alas, not all digital cabbies are as chatty as we’d all like.
That means that your journey from point A to B can often be dreary. What do we d when things get boring? Well, we look at our phones!
Uber knows this, and has now teamed up with Snapchat to allow users to “personalise their riding experience” with some all-new filters.
Snapchat cards will now show up on your Uber feed, helping you to let friends know you’re on your way.
“You’re often going somewhere to meet someone while making the most of your idle time in the car,” says Uber’s Sub-Saharan Africa General Manager, Alon Lits. “That’s why we’re always working on fun new features to ensure you get the most out of the Uber experience.”
It’s a welcome boost for Snapchat, as well, as the company struggles to come to terms with the existence of Facebook and Instagram Stories, not to mention WhatsApp Status.
The new feature is set to be rolled out on iOS and Android in Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa soon.
