Sony has no intention of cutting the price of its PlayStation Vita handheld this year.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida said that the company hopes new bundles will appeal to consumers for now.

Yoshida confirmed that reducing the manufacturing cost of the machine was a focus.

"Of course, cost reduction is one area our engineering team is working on. But we just launched the platform earlier this year. It takes time to do so," he was quoted as saying.

When asked about whether there would be a price cut this year, Yoshida replied in the negative.

"It's too early," he said.
