Web giant Opera Software is planning to launch a subscription-based app store for mobile devices, seemingly inspired by streaming media services.
The Norwegian firm revealed that it will charge a subscription fee for "all-you-can-eat" access to premium apps in its Opera Mobile Store.
Users will get a free seven-day trial, with a "small" weekly subscription fee then being offered, Opera said.
The Subscription Mobile Store is currently being marketed as a quick way for mobile networks to have their own branded app store.
Opera's Mobile Store offers roughly 300 000 applications across Android, Symbian, Java, BlackBerry and other platforms.
It's not the only big app news for Opera, with Microsoft confirming last week that the Opera Mobile Store would replace the Nokia Store on Asha devices.
