A US professor is looking for an "adventurous" woman to give birth to a Neanderthal baby.
The bizarre request is part of a plan by Professor George Church of Harvard Medical School to bring the extinct human species back, The Independent reported.
To accomplish the task, Church will create artificial DNA based on analysis of Neanderthal bone samples, inserting the DNA into stem cells.
Following this procedure, the cells will then be inserted into a human embryo, setting its development along Neanderthal lines.
The embryo would then be implanted within a surrogate mother.
"Now I need an adventurous human female... It depends on a hell of a lot of things, but I think it can be done," Church told Der Spiegel.
