A new Linux operating system, claimed to be created by hacker group Anonymous, is riddled with malicious software.

One of the official Anonymous Twitter accounts has discredited the platform, saying "it is wrapped in trojans", Memeburn reported.

The Anonymous-OS Tumblr blog also set off alarm bells by being littered with spelling and grammatical errors.

However, the team behind the platform has taken to their blog to dispel the accusations, saying "If any user believe that Anonymous-OS 'is wrapped in trojans' or 'backdoored OS by any Law enforcement Company or Hacker' please don't download it!"

"But don't mislead the world that Linux is dangerous and has trojans," the post concluded.

Since the release of the platform, it has been downloaded over 25 000 times, according to Boy Genius Report.
