South African ISP MWEB will be cutting the price of its 10Mbps uncapped ADSL service by R1000, to R999 per month.
The cut joins another price reduction earlier this year, which saw MWEB's 1Mbps uncapped package reduced to R199 per month.
Derek Hershaw, CEO of MWEB ISP explains, "Locally, 10Mbps uncapped ADSL is a premium product and by cutting the price of our offering by 50 percent we're making it possible for more South Africans to move up the broadband value chain to top speed, uncapped internet," Derek Hershaw, CEO of MWEB said.
The company has also announced a new 2Mbps package, available for R369 per month.
"This is in light of Telkom migrating all 1Mbps ADSL lines to 2Mbps lines during August and September 2012," the company said.
Other ISPs have also made price cuts to their 10Mbps product in recent months, including WebAfrica (R1299 per month) and Afrihost (R997 per month).
