Cell C has announced a reduction in its data tariffs for both in- and out-of-bundle packages.

As part of its pricing revamp, the company has reduced its standard data rate to R0.15c per MB, a press statement read, with the new rate applying to both prepaid and contract packages from 1 August 2012.

"We are committed to offering customers deals that are affordable, transparent and simple. What you see is what you get. No more nasty surprises when you go out of bundle. You will pay one low rate for in-bundle and out-of-bundle usage," said Cell C CEO Alan Knott-Craig.

Cell C's bundles start at 50MB for R7.50, going to 100MBs for R15, 500MBs for R75 and 1GB for R155.

At the higher end, the packages will cost R310 (2GBs), R770 (5GBs), R1540 (10GBs) and R3070 (20GBs).

“In addition to the reduced standard data rates, customers can continue to look forward to very competitive promotions that we will run from time to time.” says Knott-Craig.
