The South African launch of the Wii U is set to take place on the same day as Europe.

The announcement was made by Nintendo South Africa on their Twitter account (PrincessPeachSA)

"South Africa! We can confirm that the #WiiU will be launching alongside Europe on 30th November 2012..." read a tweet on their account.

Nintendo's new console stands out thanks to a new GamePad controller, which features a 6.2-inch touchscreen in addition to traditional console controls.

The console also features extensive online connectivity, along with video-streaming services.

The machine will launch in two variants, a cheaper Basic bundle and a more expensive Premium bundle.

The Basic bundle features 8GBs of storage and no pack-in game, while the Premium version has 32GBs of space and the Nintendo-Land title. Storage can be expanded via the USB ports.
