Sony has taken the wraps off of its latest tablet computer, powered by Android 4.1.

The Xperia Tablet Z boasts a 1.5Ghz quad-core processor, 2GBs of RAM and a 10.1-inch 1920x1200 display.

There's more to the device though, coming packed with near-field communications (NFC) tech, an 8.1MP rear-facing camera, 2MP front-facing shooter and high-speed LTE connectivity.

In the storage department, the slate comes with 32GBs of storage, although microSD support is available too.

The Xperia Tablet Z is also 6.9mms thin, while weighing 495 grams, making it one of the slimmest and lightest slates around.

Additionally, the device is both dustproof and waterproof.
