Not Great
"); document.write("Not a great article:

Bloomberg: Phone comes with stock app.

Flashlight: th eiPhone is bright enough to light up a room.

Moxier World: iPhones comes with a built in 5 day forecast, for practically any city - even Bellville!

RSS Runner: Why would you want this? If you can access the internet and get proper news?

Not great indeed
"); document.write("I'm afraid none of Gideon, The CoolTech Guy's articles are particularly great. One gets the impression he knows a bit but no more than the average, interested computer literate.

Sorry, mate, but you suck, actually.. Pale Native"); document.write("
Other Apps
"); document.write("Unfortunately the other guys seem to be a bit harsh, but actually they are right... not a great article, and lacks any real substance. Even a bit more detail of each app listed and maybe a small screenshot of each might have made it alot better, but even then I would hardly call your list the best iPhone apps ever as alot of even greater ones are missing. Although ones like Bloomberg does stand out (btw the built-in Stocks app does not support S.A. stocks) whereas Bloomberg does, and is way way better.

There's a couple that's even better and cooler than alot on your list.

Here's some more:
midomi: Sing, Say, Grab (like via the radio) or Type a part of a song, and it will find the song, and relevant info. to it. Works reasonably well. Obviously the better you sing or hum the better the chances of getting the best match :)

SnapTell: An extremely cool app that allows you to use the iPhone camera to take a pic of a book, cd or dvd cover and it will find info. & even reviews related to that product for you. Works expremely well. The other day I was in my local CNA :) and was interested in buying a book, the cover look interesting but otherwise didn't know too much about it, so I pulled out my iPhone, took a slighly skew pic of the cover, and 10secs later I had google links to reviews & such, and could even buy it online (but since I was in CNA already this feature wasn't useful in my particular case :) - after I read the positive reviews from various people on my phone, I knew a bit better what I was purchasing, and seemed like a good buy. Then I tried it on another book, and it found it too, no problem... simply amazing app.
You definately have to try the above two apps, midomi & SnapTell.

Others:
VNC: VNC your computer on your iPhone.
RDP: Remote desktop your computer on your iPhone.
fring: IM & Skype (Chat & calls), etc. access on your iPhone.
iCricket: Not the best but a worthy app. for cricket fans.
MiniPiano: The name says it all. Just fun, but works well.
DigiLite: Drums on your iPhone. Quite fun too.

And lastly for you Dilbert fans, get your daily dilbert with:
iTreblid: Dilbert :)

And for you StarWars fans:
Lightsaber: May the force be with you :)

Anyway there's more, but I'm tired now :). Neo"); document.write("
iPhone
"); document.write("These free apps don't warrant spending the money on an iPhone, why don't they make some cool free apps and then I might consider. I have a flashlight and unit converter on my Nokia 1208 that costs R199 (but thanks anyway). Tim"); document.write("
