document.write("the us dod recommends rewriting the hdd several times, then reusing it, and not tossing it. the only real way to secure it is to take a 10 lb hammer to it or place it in the fire, or both. hdd are so cheap, its way better to donate the machine without the hdd. i use all my excess hdd to store data on, in case my nb gets stolen. i have 2 x 2.5 hdd - 160g each, one full of music/video, the other has data.<br />ya simply buy a new notebook and get to work - its better than losing everything. pack the data in a different bag. i carry mine on board, on my person.  <br />luck. jackass");
